(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – On May 5, 2015 at approximately 2:24 p.m. a female attended a Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment on Centre Road, in Adelaide Metcalfe, Ontario.
As she was a possible impaired driver, officers ordered her to stop the motor vehicle she was driving, a black Ford SUV.
The vehicle failed to stop, and fled the parking lot, travelling northbound on Centre Road.
The vehicle was located at approximately 2:39 p.m. on Alma Street, near Hawthorn Crescent, in North Middlesex, Ontario, where it was stopped by police.
It was determined that the 39 year old female driver had been drinking alcohol. She was placed under arrest, and resisted arresting officers at the scene.
The female was transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath tests.
As a result of the investigation, Shannon BURNKE, from North Middlesex, Ontario, has been charged with flight while pursued by peace officer, resist peace officer, and fail or refuse to provide sample 254(3) alcohol/blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear, and is scheduled to answer the charges on June 2, 2015, in a London court.
