(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment has charged a 23 year old male after police investigated a motor vehicle collision at a Turkey Point Road, Charlotteville, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Monday, June 22, 2015 at approximately 4:34 p.m., police were called to investigate a single motor vehicle collision which had left the roadway.
Through the course of investigation it was determined that a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was travelling northbound on Turkey Point road when the vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch and rolled over.
When officers arrived on scene they encountered a male who became involved in a verbal confrontation with police which then turned into a physical altercation. He was subsequently taken into custody without further incident.
The driver, a 24 year old female of Six Nations First Nation of the Grand River Territory, Ontario and passengers, a 21 year old female of Six Nations First Nation of the Grand River Territory and a 23 year old male of Orillia, Ontario sustained minor injuries.
As a result of investigation, police arrested and charged 23-year-old Evan Christopher LONGBOAT of Orillia, Ontario with criminal negligence causing bodily harm, mischief endangering life and resist peace officer.
He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.
