(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On August 5, 2014 at approximately 11:40 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a complaint of suspicious activity at a rural residence on Wellington Road 7, Centre Wellington Township. Police attended the scene and spoke with a male. Officers located suspected marihuana on him and made an arrest. Another man was located and a woman at the scene. During the investigation, a tractor trailer was observed that had been stolen from the City of Guelph containing furniture. Officers arrested the man and woman also. They were transported them to a Wellington County OPP Operations Centre.
Wellington County OPP Uniform members, Wellington County OPP Street Crime Unit (SCU), Wellington County OPP Crime Unit, and West Region Forensics Identification Services (FIS) executed a search warrant and officers seized approximately $30 000 of stolen property including the stolen tractor trailer unit.
Adam RUTTAN age 38 of Toronto is charged with Possession of Property Obtained By Crime over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code, and Possession of Marihuana under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Jennifer GRENFELL age 37 of Toronto is charged with Possession of Property Obtained By Crime over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code.
Jack RUTTAN age 34 of Wooler is charged with Possession of Property Obtained By Crime over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code.
They are scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on September 12, 2014 to answer to the charges.
