(Prescott, ON.) – Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal collision on Highway 2 in Augusta Township.
Shortly after 11:00 pm on August 12th, police were dispatched to a single pedestrian walking on Highway 2 in the area of Irace Road in Augusta Township. A second call was made to police reporting two pedestrians walking on Highway 2 near Sharpes Lane. The two pedestrians were located by police. During this time a third call was received that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the vicinity of Irace Road.
Upon arrival, the lone pedestrian was laying in the middle of the road being tended by paramedics. The male was transported to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation revealed that the 17 year old male from St. Catherine’s, Ontario was struck by a Pontiac G5 while walking on the highway. The 33 year old driver from Augusta Township called 911 immediately. No charges are expected.
