(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A motorcycle driver from Chatham will have some explaining to do when he attends traffic court in a few weeks’ time. At approximately 8:39 p.m. on August 6, 2015 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a motorcycle travelling northbound on Grand Bend Line at an extremely high rate of speed. The officer activated his RADAR device and measured the speed of the 2007 Yamaha R6L motorcycle as it climbed to a high speed of 207 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone. The officer immediately turned around and followed the motorcycle into the town of Grand Bend. The driver came to a red light within the town limits and at that point the officer was able to direct the driver to pull over.
Samuel GLASIER, 24 years of age from Chatham has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle. He has a scheduled court appearance on September 11, 2015 at Provincial Offences Act Court in Goderich. His licence was suspended for a seven days and his motorbike was impounded.
