Good Samaritans Pull Victims From Burning Vehicle – Drunk Driver Charged

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On Sunday August 16, 2015 at 3:58 am West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Britt Fire Department was dispatched to a single motor vehicle personal injury collision on Hwy 69 Archipelago Township near Harris Lake Road.

OPP arrived and learned a single motor vehicle had left the road way and caught on fire from the resulting crash. The occupants of the vehicle were removed from the car by a passing motorists and received first aid for their injuries. The injured parties were later transported to the West Parry Sound Health Centre for treatment.

As a result of the investigation and observations by OPP resulted in the arrest of the driver for impaired driving. Intoxilyzer tests were conducted at the West Parry Sound Health Centre by Police and Jorden SZYPERSKI (25) of Barrie Ontario was subsequently charged with driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol to the Criminal Code of Canada.

SZYPERSKI was released from hospital and is required to attend court on Thursday September 17,2015 in Parry Sound, ON
