(HALIBURTON, ON) – Officers from the Haliburton Highlands detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to investigate a shooting incident which took place on August 16, 2015 shortly before 6:00 p.m., at a residence on Highway 118 in the Township of Dysart et al.
When police arrived on scene, they found one male deceased. Another male believed to have been involved in the incident, was later located and transported to hospital. Both males appeared to have suffered gun-shot wounds.
The deceased male has been identified as Michael CHAPMAN, 62 years old, of Haliburton, Ontario. The other involved male, a 40 year old Haliburton resident, remains in hospital and is listed as being in stable condition.
The investigation remains ongoing under the direction of OPP Detective Inspector Rob Hagerman of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
