Johnathan PARSONS – Drunk Driving, Open Alcohol

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – At approximately 10:11 p.m., on October 9, 2015, the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Centre Road, near Glasgow Street, of a motor vehicle observed to be travelling at a high rate of speed. The blue Volkswagen car was measured to be travelling at more than 50 km per hour over the posted speed limit.

Officers determined the male driver had been drinking alcohol. He was arrested, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath testing.

As a result of the police investigation, 22-year-old Johnathan PARSONS, from Aylmer, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol), and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was further charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) with race a motor vehicle, and drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit, as well as driving motor vehicle with open container of alcohol, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer to charges in a London court on November 5, 2015.
