Moped Struck By Car – Two Sent To Hospital

(SARNIA, ON)- On October 11, 2015 at approximately 12:55 a.m. the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended #40 Highway south of Confederation Line in the City of Sarnia to investigate a collision between a passenger car and an electric bicycle.

Investigation revealed that the electric bicycle was south bound on #40 Highway when it was struck by a south bound passenger car. Both occupants of the electric bicycle were transported to Hospital with injuries and were last known to be in stable condition.

The OPP are urging the operators of full sized passenger cars and trucks to be cognizant of slower vehicles sharing our highways. In addition, operators of slower moving vehicles are encouraged to ensure complete visibility in order to minimize the risk of being struck by larger motor vehicles.
