(HUNTSVILLE, ON) On Monday November 2, 2015 at 4:58PM members of the Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault complaint on King William Street in the Town of Huntsville.
A male approached a motorist demanding a ride and was refused. The same male then approached an elderly couple that were walking together and began to assault a 71 year old male. The motorist who was originally approached rendered assistance by restraining the male until police arrival. The 71 year old victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
During the arrest of the accused he became assaultive toward the police officer and damaged the police cruiser.
As a result Michael Campbell (18yrs) of Huntsville was charged with Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Assault police and resist peace officer as well as failing to comply with probation order. Campbell was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled in the Ontario Court of Justice Huntsville on November 18, 2015 to answer to his charges.
