Tim WEBBER – Run Stop Sign, No Insurance

(WASAGA BEACH, ON.) – On February 5th, 2016 officers with the Huronia West

Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were conducting traffic enforcement within the town of Wasaga Beach. While on patrol officers observed a motor vehicle fail to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. As a result a vehicle stop was initiated.

Police learned the licence plate being used on the vehicle was not authorized for the vehicle and the licence plate had been reported missing in Toronto. Further investigation revealed the vehicle owner had no insurance.

52 year old Tim WEBBER of Wasaga Beach is now facing a number of driving related charges including:

Disobey stop sign – fail to stop HTA 136(1)(a),

Use plate not authorized for vehicle HTA 12(1)(d)

Drive motor vehicle no validation on plate HTA 7(1)(c i)

Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle HTA 7(5)(a)

Owner operate vehicle on highway no insurance CAIA Section 2(1)(a)

The accused will appear in Wasaga Beach Provincial Court on March 15th, 2016 to answer to the above charges.

Motorists are reminded that driving a motor vehicle on a highway without insurance results in a mandatory court date and a minimum fine of $5000.
