(Trent Lakes Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called a serious motor vehicle collision just before 8:30am today on County Road 36 north of Buckhorn.
A northbound dump truck and a southbound pick up truck collided on County Road 36. The driver of the dump truck was transported to a Lindsay area hospital with non life threatening injuries. The driver of the pick up truck; Jeffrey MCNUTT (age-42) of Havelock Belmont Methuen Township was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.
County Road 36 between the Village of Buckhorn and Flynn’s Corners remains closed while Peterborough County OPP investigate the cause of the collision.
An updated media release will be sent out once the roadway reopens.
