(KINGSVILLE, ON) — The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Kingsville responded to a call on April 17, 2016 at approximately 12:05 p.m. on Essex County Road 34 between Essex County Road 23 and Cameron Side Road in Kingsville.
A Ford pickup truck had been travelling westbound on Essex County Road 34 and drove off the south side of the roadway and struck a hydro pole causing it to sever in half.
The driver of the vehicle exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.
The road was closed for several hours while hydro crews repaired the pole.
Ted HUNTER, age 48 of Cottam was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content. He will appear in a Windsor court on May 18, 2016 to answer to the charges.
