Several Vehicles Broken Into In Mitchell

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) – On Friday morning April 15, 2016, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Mitchell received four calls from residents who reported their work vehicles entered.

Investigation revealed that three company vans, and one company pickup truck parked at private residences on William St, Park Lane, Sylvia St, and Sunset Dr. in Mitchell were broken into sometime between 11:30 p.m. Thursday April 14th, and 6 a.m. Friday April 15th. Three of the vehicles had a window broken while the fourth had a door damaged, allowing the unknown suspect(s) entry into the vehicles.

A black Dell Latitude E6430 laptop and some small hand tools were taken from one vehicle while an Apple I-Pad tablet silver in colour was taken from another. One vehicle had a Milwaukee “Hole Hawg Drill set” taken while the other had nothing removed from inside but the vehicle had been rummaged through.

The Perth County OPP is continuing to investigate these incidents however they are urging residents to continue locking their vehicles and to remove valuable objects that may be in full view.
