(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – On May 16, 2016, at approximately 9:45 a.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a residential property on John Street in North Middlesex, Ontario, regarding an incident involving an assault with a weapon.
The police investigation has revealed that the incident started as a verbal neighbour dispute between two adult males, but escalated into a physical altercation.
During the altercation, the 23-year-old victim, from North Middlesex, Ontario, suffered multiple non-life threatening stab wounds from a knife, and was transported by ambulance to hospital. He has since been discharged.
The 21-year-old accused, from North Middlesex, Ontario, was arrested near the scene by police for assault with a weapon, and transported by ambulance to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He has since been discharged, and remains in police custody.
This incident is still under investigation, and charges are pending.
