(HALIBURTON, ON) – On Saturday May 14, 2016 just before 4:00p.m., an officer from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act (HTA) violation on Highway 118 in Highlands East Township.
The officer located and seized a small quantity of suspected marihuana in the vehicle. The male driver, 56 year-old, Martin BELL of Tweed, ON has been charged with:
· Possession of a Schedule II substance-Cannabis Marihuana-under 30 grams contrary to sec 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
· Drive motor vehicle-no licence contrary to section 32(1) of the HTA
· Operate vehicle-fail to display device contrary to section 85(1) HTA
