(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment have charged a 26-year-old male, 57-year-old male and a 57-year-old female after police investigated an incident at a Norfolk Street South, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.
On Saturday, June 18, 2016 at approximately 8:47 p.m., police were contacted by a concerned citizen reporting an assault.
Through the course of investigation it was determined that a suspicious male was walked past a pedestrian on Norfolk Street South when he assaulted the unsuspecting victim. Police continued to investigate the incident and located the suspect at a Sydenham Street address.
Officers subsequently located the male who became involved in a physical altercation with police. While taking the male into custody, police had to deal with another male and female that arrived at the address. As a result, all three (3) were taken into custody without incident.
Charged with assault, fail to comply with probation order, two (2) counts of assault peace officer and engage in prohibited activity on premises is 26-year-old Kyle Joseph PEREIRA of Norfolk County, Ontario.
Charged with obstruct peace officer is 57-year-old Phil Martins PEREIRA of Norfolk County, Ontario.
Charged with obstruct peace officer is 57-year-old Rita PEREIRA of Norfolk County, Ontario.
All are to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.
