(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON) – Members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit have charged a male from Southwest Middlesex, Ontario, following an internet investigation.
In April 2016, the Middlesex County OPP received information in regards to an internet site. During the investigation, it was learned there were publications of on-line images of person(s) who were under the age of 18 years of age. The matter was forwarded to the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation unit for further investigation.
On June 17, 2016, police executed a search warrant at a residence in Southwest Middlesex, Ontario. As a result of the search, a computer, and three cell phones were seized. These items are pending forensic analysis.
The accused, an 18 year-old male, was arrested on June 17, 2016, and has been charged with 18 sexual offences, including both adult and young offender charges. His identity is being withheld as per provisions in the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), which was applicable at the time of some of the offences.
He is charged with:
Publication of an intimate image without consent X3
Sexual interference with a person under 16 years of age X3
Invitation to sexual touching with a person under 16 years of age X3
Indecent exposure to a person under 16 years of age X3
Sexual assault
Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age X2
Sexual exploitation X3
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to appear in a London court on July 18, 2016.
The investigation is continuing.
