(HAWKESBURY, ON) – On July 08th, 2016, members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) – Community Drug Action Team (CDAT), assisted by the East Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), conducted a drug trafficking investigation in the Town of Hawkesbury, resulting in the seizure of methamphetamine (speed) tablets, Hydromorphone pills, Cocaine, packaging and Canadian currency.
Two persons were arrested in this matter.
Salah SIBERA (50 yrs) of St-Philippe Street in Alfred was arrested and charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following sections:
5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
5(1) Trafficking in Schedule I substance- Cocaine
5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs
5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs
Investigation revealed that he was in breach of his conditions.
He was also charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with the following offences:
145(5.1) Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge
145(3) Fail to Comply with Recognizance – (4 counts)
He was not released and kept for a bail hearing.
Melanie BRAZEAU (37 yrs) of Spence Av, Hawkesbury was arrested and charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following section:
5(1) Trafficking in Schedule I substance- Cocaine
She was later released and scheduled to appear at court on August 04th, 2016 in L’Orignal.
