Three Arrested For Drugs

ESPANOLA, ON)- On September 16, 2016, at approximately 5:00 a.m., members from the Espanola Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting radar enforcement and initiated a traffic stop on Highway 17, in the township of Sables-Spanish Rivers.

Officers detected the odor of marihuana emanating from interior of the vehicle. A quantity of drugs were located and seized.

As a result of the investigation, three male subjects were arrested and charged with the following:

The driver, Christopher CZINDL, 19 years of age, from Scarborough, was charged with the following:

Possession of Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

A passenger, Trevor SALASNY, 18 years of age, from Scarborough, was charged with the following:

Possession of Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

A second passenger, Theodore BONKE, 18 years of age, from Scarborough, was charged with the following:

Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs Substances Act

Possession of Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking under 3 Kilograms contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

All three accused were released from custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola, on November 7, 2016.
