(POINT EDWARD, ON) – On October 11, 2016 at approximately 5:00 a.m. a member of the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol acted on tip that a suspicious person was trespassing on a commercial property. The OPP member attended the area and observed the suspicious male on a residential property. The male was arrested for trespass by night (residential) as per the Criminal Code of Canada. As a result of the arrest the male was searched at which time police located a series of narcotics. During the course of the investigation it was also discovered that the male had lied about his identity.
As a result, the OPP has charged Robert BRIGHT, 50 years-of-age of Sarnia Ontario with allegedly possessing a narcotic X 4 and public mischief (false identity).
The Village of Point Edward has fallen victim to several property related crimes in recent months. This is the third property related arrest the OPP has made in the past two weeks within the Village. The OPP will remain vigilant in policing their communities and those who insist on victimizing its residents.
