Dereck LEBLANC – Drunk Driving

(CHATHAM, ON) On October 10, 2016, around 5:30 p.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 401 near Victoria Road.

Members located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop and while speaking with the driver, the officer determined the driver had consumed alcohol. The driver was transported to detachment for further tests.

Upon further investigation, the male driver, Dereck LEBLANC, 40-years-old of Windsor, Ontario, was charged with drive while ability impaired, and drive motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused is required to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 28, 2016 to answer to the charges.

Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is actively monitoring the “Big 4” driving behaviours; impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving, and seatbelt usage.
