Youth Charged With Internet Luring

(Russell County, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit have charged a male youth following an on-line child internet luring investigation.

In November, 2013 members from the Russell County O.P.P. received a complaint from staff at a local High School in regards to an internet luring complaint. The O.P.P. Child Sexual Exploitation Unit was notified and assisted with the investigation.

On December 4, 2013 as a result of this investigation, two computer devices were seized and are pending forensic analysis.

A 16 year old male from Russell County has been charged with one count of Sending Sexually Explicit Material and one count of Exposure contrary to the criminal code.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to attend court on January 8, 2014, at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal, Ontario.

The investigation is continuing.
