YOUTH CHARGED IN MITCHELL BREAK And ENTER

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Saturday August 31, 2013 around 4:45 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to an address on Nelson St. in Mitchell, where the homeowner had been awakened by outside noises.

The homeowner called 911 and then observed two people carrying items out of the shed. He ran outside and yelled at the two individuals who dropped the items and ran away. Officers followed the trail of the suspects and with the assistance of the OPP canine unit tracked one of the suspects to a Mitchell residence. The male suspect was found to be 16 years of age.

The 16 year old male has been charged with “break, enter a place – commit indictable offence”, and “failure to comply” X2. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford (Youth Division), on October 17, 2013 to answer to these charges. The second suspect remains at large and police are continuing to investigate as to the identity of this person.
