You Have Been Heard – North Huron Heads Down New Path – Swipe Cards, Staff Reductions, Block Parents & Switching to OPP Policing

At last night’s well-attended council meeting, Council and staff
introduced several items to reduce expenses and to make our
community safer.  The mood in chambers has started to become
less hostile.  All public gallery questions were allowed to be
asked, and Neil Vincent didn’t act as if the public gallery were a
burden.  Mayor Vincent kept the discussion on topic, allowing
for one of the most productive council meetings in years.

These pending changes are due (in part) to the public demanding
change and offering suggestions.  Council has now shown they
are willing to listen to the public and consider things
objectively.  Public input is essential to generate ideas and
discussions that could lead to savings and a safer community.
If you have an idea that could save the town money, or make our town
safer, you must speak up.  Please post any suggestions in the
comment section or on our FaceBook wall.  This will allow for
public debate, which normally leads to more ideas for
consideration/discussion.
