Shortly after 4:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to a domestic disturbance on Grand Avenue East in Chatham. It is alleged that the woman grabbed a steak knife and ran towards the man. The man was able to disarm the woman and call for help. The man was not injured. Through investigation, the man disclosed that earlier this month, during a verbal argument, the woman stabbed him with a knife. The man suffered a cut to his abdomen, however did not seek medical attention.
A 37-year-old Chatham woman has been arrested and charged with assault with a weapon X2. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
