(Adjala-Tosorontio Township, ON) On Thursday the 17th of October 2014 at 7:23 p.m an officer from the Nottawasaga OPP Detachment was on general patrol in the area of Concession Road 7 in Adjala-Tosorontio Township when a black Pontiac Pursuit was observed to be travelling at a high rate of speed.
The officers determined that the motor vehicle was travelling 113 km/hr in a posted 60 km/hr zone.
The driver, a 25 year old male from Adjala-Tosorontio Township was stopped and as a result of the investigation, the driver was charged with Stunt Driving. His licence was immediately suspended for seven days and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Recent OPP data has revealed that OPP-investigated road deaths this year
(2014) in which speeding was a causal factor are more than double what they
were at this time last year.
