Wingham Police Service is partnering with Bee Networx Inc of Vaughan for a trial of body worn cameras. Two members of the service have been selected to use the cameras for two months. The cameras will document the activities of the officers and will assist in gathering evidence in many cases including traffic offenses and impaired drivers. Several inquiries in North America have recommended that police utilize body worn cameras in order to facilitate investigations where force has been used.
Following the trial period, a report will be compiled and submitted to the Police Service Board.
