(ESSA TOWNSHIP) – On May 3, 2016 at approximately 4:37pm., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was patrolling in the area of County Road 56, Essa Township. The Officer observed a northbound motorist at a high rate of speed.
The Officer determined that the motor vehicle was travelling 146km/h in a posted 80km/h zone. The Officer also observed the motor vehicle pass two motorists travelling northbound while climbing a hill causing a southbound motorist to swerve onto the shoulder to avoid a collision.
A 19 year old male, Jordan WILLSON of Hamilton has been charged with Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle, Flight while pursued by a peace officer and Race a motor vehicle.
The motor vehicle was impounded. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, in Barrie on the 21 June 2016.
