(SOUTHWEST OXFORD TOWNSHIP, ON.)- Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fire at the Westmount Motel located at 585076 Beachville Road, Southwest Oxford Township.
At approximately 7:20 p.m. OPP responded to assist the Beachville Fire Department and Woodstock Fire Department while they work to extinguish the fire. As a result of the fire there is a temporary closure of Beachville Road between Anderson Street, Woodstock and Dougall Street, Southwest Oxford.
Red Cross was activated and assisted 12 people that were evacuated from the Motel and taken to the Quality Inn. There were no injuries.
The fire is currently under control, and the cause is not yet known. Beachville Road will remain closed for several hours.
The scene will be held and the investigation continuing. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
