(ORILLIA, ON.) – Over the past weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 176 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township, and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.
There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarm, 911 hang-ups, motor vehicle collisions, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, mischief complaints and Impaired drivers.
On Sunday, July 12, 2015 at approximately 2:50 a.m., an officer from the Orillia OPP was on routine patrol in the city of Orillia when they observed the driver of a motor vehicle holding a handheld device. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Front Street and the male drive was arrested at the scene.
Richard CROTHERS-WORRELL, 25 years old of Orillia, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 mgs Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear and will be in Orillia court on August 4, 2015.
