Weekend Update For Orillia OPP

(ORILLIA, ON.) – Over the past weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 113 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.

There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarm, 911 hang-ups, motor vehicle collisions, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, mischief complaints and Impaired driving.

On March 21, 2015 at approximately 7:31 p.m., the Orillia OPP was dispatched to a possible impaired driver on Atherley Road in the City of Orillia. The motor vehicle was located on Atherley Road where the male driver was arrested.

John NEWMAN, 50 years old of Orillia, is charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 mgs Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear and will be in Orillia court on April 7, 2015.
