(Tiny Township)- Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted snowmobile patrols over the March 15 and 16 , 2014 weekend on trails and ice surfaces in the Townships of Tay, Georgian Bay and Tiny including Giant’s Tomb.
Detachment officers were assisted on these patrols by officers from the OPP Central Region SAVE Team and a Conservation officer from the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR).
Over these dates, 160 snowmobiles and their operators were checked which resulted in:
-20 charges under the Motorised Snow Vehicle Act (MSVA),
– 2 charges under the Liquor -Licence Act (LLA),
-2 charges under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act along with 20 warnings under these acts.
