Weekend Incidents 2013-07-29
(Collingwood and The Blue Mountains, Ontario) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 147 calls for service from noon Friday until this morning at 7:00am.
On Friday night, at approximately 8:00pm, police charged a female party with numerous criminal offences after she threw drinking glasses at a bar tender when she was refused service. The female left the premises however was located a short time later by police and transported to Collingwood detachment for processing. It was also found that this female had entered a residence nearby and had stolen personal items. Charged is 26 year-old Laura SEED of Wasaga Beach, she is charged with criminal offences of assault with a weapon, mischief under $5000, possession of stolen property, theft under $5000 x3, break and enter a dwelling house and unlawfully in a dwelling house as well as a liquor license act charge of being intoxicated in a public place. She is to appear in Collingwood court on the 3rd of September 2013.

Police had one incident of a vehicle being entered on Tenth Street sometime overnight from Friday to Saturday. Nothing was taken in that incident. Also another one on Georgian Manor Drive where a vehicle was entered overnight from Satuday to Sunday. In that incident a pair of black coloured Oakley sunglasses were stolen. Police investigated a theft of an iPhone 4S from the carnival area near the Collingwood Museum on Friday evening at 6:00pm, the phone is still outstanding at this time. Also two thefts of bicycles from a residences, one Spruce Street and one on Highlands Crescent, no description available at this time.

An officer on patrols also charged a male driver after he was found to be speeding at 128 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone on Poplar Sideroad. The 20 year-old male from Oakville was charged with speeding – 50 km/h over the posted speed limit, his vehicle was impounded and license suspended for 7 days.
