On the 5th of March 2014, a 49 year old female was arrested for theft in regards to a shoplifting incident. She was provided a court date of April 7th 2014 which the female failed to appear for. A warrant for the females arrest was issued as a result.
On the 3rd of August 2014, at approximately 8pm, an intoxicated female was requested to leave the beer tent at Kempenfest for trying to climb up on the stage while a performance was in progress. The female argued with security and refused to leave. Police became involved and removed the female from the premise.
While removing the female, she refused to identify herself and became belligerent with police. Due to her level of intoxication and the fact she would not identify herself police transported her to the station and lodged her in cells.
Police continued with their investigation and were able to reveal her true identity. It was revealed that the female was currently wanted on the outstanding warrant for missing court back on April 7th. Police subsequently charged the female and held her pending a bail hearing.
