Owen Sound Police have arrested and charged a 44 year old Owen Sound man in relation to a violent incident that occurred at approximately 9:30 pm on Tuesday February 14, 2017.
The incident began when the accused and the victim argued over the status of their relationship which progressed to the point where the victim attempted to leave the Owen Sound residence, but the accused physically prevented her from doing so. The accused told the victim that if she called the police that he would kill her.
During the incident the victim made attempts to escape and also yelled for help. Eventually the victim was able to call the police and a short time later the accused was arrested and held for bail. The man is charged with the following offences and will appear before the courts today:
1) Assault
2) Forcible Confinement
3) Uttering a Threat of Death
