(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On October 29, 2014 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received numerous complaints from residents in the Town of Rockwood about vehicles being entered overnight and items stolen. It was reported that 11 vehicles were entered and of those, 3 were reported to have been locked.
Police want to remind vehicle owners that thefts from vehicles are a crime of opportunity. An unlocked vehicle door or an open window is an invitation to thieves, and keeping valuables out of view could prevent a theft from occurring.
Anyone with information regarding these crimes, please contact Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a tip on-line at www.crimestoppersguelphwellington.com. You may be eligible for a reward from Crime Stoppers of up to $2,000.
