(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON)- On Thursday March 27, 2014 at 1:05 a.m. a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle travelling eastbound on Dundas Street near Nissouri Road while driving with the vehicles high beam lights activated. Upon speaking with the driver police soon discovered that the driver had been drinking. A roadside screening test was administered at which time the driver registered a“FAILâ€Â. The driver was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Lucan OPP detachment for further tests.
As a result police have charged Terry CLANCY, age 55 of Thames Centre, ON with Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood as per Section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC) and Fail to use lower beam – oncoming as per Section 168(a) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to appear in a London court room on April 29, 2014 to speak to the charges.
The drivers licence was seized and the vehicle was impounded for a period of 7 days.
