VEHICLE STOPS LEAD TO CHARGES

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) -Two separate vehicle stops conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have resulted in the drivers facing Highway Traffic Act (HTA) related offences.

On November 9, 2013 an OPP officer stopped a vehicle travelling at 138 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Highway 35 near Mount Horeb Road. The driver, Jeremy KIRIOPOULOS, 27 years of age, of Scarborough was subsequently charged with stunt driving, contrary to the HTA. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay on December 10, 2013.

Also on November 9, 2013 an OPP officer conducted a vehicle stop on Simcoe Street near Zion Road. The subsequent investigation revealed that the driver was suspended from driving.

As a result of the investigation Mark STELLA, 47 years of age, of Nestleton, was charged with driving while suspended.

The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on December 10, 2013.
