(Otonabee-South Monaghan Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with emergency crews were called to the boat ramp near Woodduck Drive, this morning (23Oct) just before 10:00am, for a vehicle in the water.
Witnesses, who were working near the boat ramp, located the almost completely submerged vehicle. OPP members from the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) assisted in the removal of the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) from the lake. Inside the SUV, police discovered the body of a deceased person. Members of the Peterborough County OPP Crime Unit are assisting the Coroner with the investigation.
