Vandal’s Actions Leads To Death Of Baby Mink

(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) – Members of the County of Brant Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a farm on Maple Grove Road on 30 April 2016 at approximately 7:00 a.m. after a report of a break enter overnight.

County of Brant OPP attended the scene and found that unknown person(s) attended the address in the early morning hours of 30 April 2016 and gained entry to the barn by cutting holes in the wall which allowed over 500 minks and kits (baby mink) to leave.

Although most of the mink were recovered several of the mink had recently born kits which have a very low chance of survival because it is impossible to ensure they have been matched with the proper mother. The total number of kits that this will affect is still unknown.
