(Snow Township, ON) – On Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at 2:53 p.m., the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision on Hwy 556, Ranger Lake Road involving a motorized snow vehicle and a motor vehicle.
The driver of the motorized snow vehicle died as a result of the collision. The male driver has been identified as Andrew CAMERON (35) of Sault Ste Marie. A post mortem is scheduled for January 3, 2014 in Sault Ste Marie.
Investigation revealed the motorized snow vehicle was travelling eastbound on the westbound side of the road. The westbound motor vehicle and MSV met on the crest of a hill. They both swerved to miss each other and then collided.
Alcohol was not a factor and there will be no charges in this incident.
