(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – The West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police, Parry Sound Fire Department and Parry Sound Emergency Services (EMS) were on scene at the motor vehicle and pedestrian collision at James St and Seguin St in the Town of Parry Sound on October 11, 2013. A pedestrian with two children were struck by a pick-up truck while crossing at the intersection.
Life-saving efforts were performed by emergency services at the scene. All three pedestrians were rushed to hospital with EMS. A 21 month old and a 7 year old male were pronounced deceased at the West Parry Sound Health Centre (WPSHC). The female pedestrian is being treated for her injuries at the WPHC
Names of the deceased and injured have not been released pending next of kin notification.
An OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigator (TTCI) and an OPP Reconstructionist are at the scene. The intersection remains closed for the investigation.
