(PORT HOPE, ON) At approximately 10:56 am on Friday September 13, 2013 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended to a fatal motor vehicle collision after a male fell from the County Road 28 over pass into oncoming traffic of the eastbound lane of Highway 401 at Port Hope, Ontario.
OPP detachment uniform and Crime Unit members, the Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit (TTCI) attended to the scene with the assistance of Port Hope Police Service (PHPS) and Fire Department(PHFD), Northumberland Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Ministry of Transportation (MTO).
A 25 year old male from London, Ontario was pronounced deceased at the scene by the local coroner. Identification will not be released.
All lanes of Highway 401 are now open to motorists. The OPP would like to thank the travelling public for their patience while investigating this incident.
