(SOUTH HURON, ON) Investigation into the crash at the intersection of London Road and Whalen Line has determined that a west bound Mazda Tribute on Whalen Line, crossed directly in front of a Dodge Caravan which was traveling south bound on London Road. (The intersection is controlled by stop signs for traffic on Whalen Line with London Road being the through highway).
As a result of the collision the passenger of the Dodge Caravan, Madeleine ROLLINS (73) of London was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver, Arthur ROLLINS (50) and female passenger, Gerrie RIETDYK- ROLLINS (53) both of Strathroy of this vehicle was transported to South Huron hospital for treatment. They were treated with non life threatening injuries.
The driver of the west bound Mazda Tribute, Jessica MASUCCI (20) of Maple and female passenger, Kyla FERGUSON (19) of Mississauga were transported to South Huron hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries.
The intersection is now open. The OPP Technical Traffic Investigation Unit continues to investigate this crash.
