(SOUTH HURON, ON) On Sunday September 4, 2011, shortly after 10:00 p.m. Huron County OPP officers and members of the South Huron Fire Department were called to a serious two vehicle crash at the intersection of London Road (Highway #4) and Whalen Line in the Municipality of South Huron.
As a result of this collision, the passenger of one of the vehicles has been pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be released pending the notification of next of kin.
Four people have been transported to the South Huron Hospital in Exeter by Huron County Paramedics with undetermined injuries.
Barricades have been erected advising of the road closures. The intersection and roads in the vicinity will remained closed for several hours to allow for police investigation. Police are requesting the public use alternate routes of travel around the collision scene.
The Huron County OPP with the assistance of the OPP Western Region Traffic Collision Investigation Unit, are investigating this crash.
