(BELLEVILLE, ON) – On June 17, 2015 at 10:00 p.m. members of Belleville Police Service and Central Hastings OPP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 37 just south of Wiser Rd in the City of Belleville.
A south bound Mazda van crossed the center line of the roadway and struck a north bound Ford pickup truck.
The driver of the van 55-year-old Ernest LONGPRE of Montreal, Quebec was pronounced deceased at the scene. One passenger in the van was airlifted to hospital with severe injuries and four other passengers were treated at local hospitals. The driver of the pick-up truck was treated and released from hospital.
The highway was closed for approximately eight hours while members of Central Hastings Detachment OPP and OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) examined the scene.
