(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On November 27, 2014 at approximately 9:14 a.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a serious two-vehicle collision in the area of Coldstream Road at Oxbow Drive in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre.
A black Volkswagon car travelling southbound on Coldstream Road collided in the intersection, with a black GMC pick-up truck, which was travelling westbound on Oxbow Drive. Coldstream Road is governed by a stop sign.
The driver of the car, a 20 year old male from Vernon, British Columbia, was transported to hospital via air ambulance with possible life-threatening injuries. He currently remains in hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the pick-up truck, a 49 year old male from Strathroy-Caradoc, Ontario, did not sustain serious injuries as a result of the collision.
The intersection at Coldstream Road at Oxbow Drive had been closed for approximately 6 hours, while the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) assisted with the investigation.
The roads have since been re-opened.
Middlesex County OPP thanks motorists in the area at the time for having driven with care, and avoiding the area.
This incident is still under investigation.
