Tyler ROOT – 152 in an 80

(HURON EAST, ON) – An early morning traffic stop for speeding has resulted in a young driver leaving without his vehicle and driver’s licence. This morning (06July2014), just before 7:00 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed an eastbound Chevrolet Impala passing a slower vehicle on Huron Road near Division Line. The officer confirmed the passing vehicle’s speed with a RADAR device and captured the speed at a high of 152 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was charged with Racing. Tyler ROOT, 21, from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle. His driver’s licence has been suspended for seven days and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days. He has a court appearance scheduled for October 7, 2014 at Provincial Offences Court – Goderich.
