(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On January 15, 2016 at 9:45 p.m., a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was northbound patrolling Highway 69 in Carling Township when the officer stopped a vehicle he observed driving northbound in the southbound lane.
Police investigation and a search of the vehicle led to the seizure of cannabis marihuana.
The driver, Tyler LINES, 28 years of age from Elliot Lake, was arrested and charged with:
Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – over 30 grams as per the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
Driving while under suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
Drive left of centre – approaching crest of grade contrary to the HTA.
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on February 2, 2016 to answer to his charges.
